Tofutsies is a great yarn for socks from South West Trading. South West Trading specializes in yarn from soy and other plant fibers, so when the developed their sock yarn, it has to contain Soy silk. Besides 25% soy silk, Tofutsies contains 50% superwash wool, 22.5% cotton and 2.5% Chitin ( a fiber from shrimp and crab shells which is naturally antibacterial). Each skein contains about 470 yds and knits at 8 st/in. On skein is enough for a pair of adult socks. Machine washable and dryable.
